Geriatrics 20/20: Bringing Current Issues into Perspective

The Centre for Studies in Aging & Health at Providence Care invites you to its Annual Conference at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, Kingston, Ontario.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Samir Sinha, MD, DPhil, FRCPC
Dr. Sinha is the Director of Geriatrics at Mount Sinai and the University Health Network Hospitals in Toronto. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and John Hopkins University. Samir further serves as Chair of the Health Professionals Advisory Committee on the Toronto Central LHIN and is a Medical Adviser to the Toronto Central CCAC. He is also the Provincial Lead for Ontario's Seniors Strategy.
We welcome clinicians, nurses, health professionals, community members, educators, researchers, and students working in all sectors of health care to gather and share their experiences and knowledge around emerging hot topics related to senior care.
- Frailty: Key issues around frail older adults and preventive strategies will be explored.
- Cognition: These workshops will focus on stigma and interventions related to delirium, dementia and depression.
- Poverty:A panel of experts will discuss and present diverse population perspectives and changes in poverty within Ontario.

Call for Abstracts
We invite undergraduates, graduates, and researchers to submit an abstract for a poster presentation on their research around aging.
Abstract submission deadline: Monday September 22nd, 2014
Poster Presentations will be held Thursday October 23rd, 5:00pm-7:00pm and Friday October 24rd 8:00am-4:00pm.
Notice of acceptance of your abstract will be sent out via email to the contact author by September 29th, 2014. Authors must indicate their acceptance to present a poster by October 6th, 2014.
Photo Context: Aging In Our Community
In addition to the Geriatrics 20/20 Conference, CSAH is also holding a photo contest to showcase images which capture the experiences of seniors living in our community. Selected photos will be exhibited at the conference, as well as at a community event on October 23rd from 5-7 pm at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour.
