Our Team at CSAH is composed of a wide variety of talented and experienced individuals. The team includes healthcare professionals and others with specialty training, knowledge and practice in geriatrics, and advanced education in research, communications, graphic design, public relations and administration. We strive to provide up-to-date information for older adults, caregivers and clinicians to sustain and improve healthcare resources for seniors.
|CO-DIRECTOR • Dr. John Puxty • A Geriatrician, John is Chair of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Queen’s University and the Chair of the Southeastern Ontario Regional Geriatric Program. John has a primary interest in promoting healthy aging and effective care for seniors with a research interest in aging, chronic disease, knowledge mobilization and information technology.|
|MANAGER • Ms. Gail Hawley Knowles • A Registered Nurse, Gail holds a leadership role in collaborating with other members of the CSAH team. Gail coordinates, develops and facilitates the creation of linkages, partnerships and networks, resources (people, products and funds), and promotes effective change management processes related to aging and health.|
|Knowledge Broker • Ms. Julia Miller • With her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as well as training in audio/visual and multimedia production, Julia supports the team with her experience in project and document management, design and photography. Julia takes a leadership role in assisting to update materials both for professional and patient audiences, as well as supporting all team members in their initiatives.|
|SENIOR RESEARCHER & PROGRAM EVALUATOR • Dr. Rosemary Brander • A Physiotherapist, Rosemary facilitates partnerships and collaborative networks of researchers and evaluators and provides leadership and direction for development of increased capacity for research and evaluation. Rosemary is also Director, Office of Interprofessional Education & Practice and Assistant Professor for the School of Rehabilitation Therapy, Queen's University.|
|WEB PROJECTS & INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN LEAD • Ms. Phileen Dickinson • A Programmer Analyst, Web and Graphic Designer, Phileen takes a leadership role in developing and maintaining the technology behind CSAH’s web-based platforms including design and implementation of e-learning strategies and resources. She also provides illustrative, graphic and multimedia design elements which enhance printed, interactive and online materials.|
|PROJECT RESOURCE CONSULTANT • Ms. Sarah Webster • Having completed her Masters in Health Studies with a focus on Gerontology, Sarah has had a career focus on improving the lives of older adults with complex needs. She has extensive practical experience with system-level knowledge translation and exchange. Sarah understands the unique needs of this population while effectively engaging stakeholders, connecting complex parts in the system and facilitating shared solution finding.|
|KNOWLEDGE BROKER • Ms. Denise Owsianicki• A Registered Nurse, with a Masters in Nursing and a focus on teaching and an interest in quality improvement, Denise brings extensive knowledge of Long-term Care Homes and Hospitals to the projects she will undertake.|
