Age-Friendly Program Description
a) Age-friendly work will continue to be a priority through the implementation of Regional strategies, plans, and initiatives, including the recently adopted Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan. Many of these risk factors are supported by data and information related to the senior population in Durham, particularly Social Isolation. As the CSWB Plan continues to operationalize key components of the implementation, working groups focused on social isolation will be important for supporting age-friendly priorities and supporting vulnerable populations. For more information, please visit ca/cswbplan
b) The Seniors and Isolated Populations Services and Support Table (S & IPSST) helps support a robust network of organizations that serve seniors and isolated populations. Including the collection of data to inform planning, identify needs, gaps and trends, support local age-friendly strategies, and the CSWB Plan. S & IPSST shares messaging and increase awareness of local seniors’ programming and available services offered through area municipalities, Region, and community partners.
