Profile
Amber Colibaba coordinates both the Trent Centre for Aging & Society and the Rural Aging Research Program at Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario. In 2018, she graduated with the Collaborative Specialization in Aging Studies from the Master of Arts in Sustainability Studies program at Trent. Amber’s research interests focus on rural aging and community development, including voluntarism and rural age-friendly program implementation and sustainability. Her recent work examines the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on older volunteers and volunteer-based programs in aging rural communities to determine how older individuals and rural services are persevering through the pandemic.
Amber will moderate a breakout session during Session 6: Rural, Remote and Small Town Age-Friendly Community Initiatives of the conference on March 23 starting at 11:30 a.m.
