Anne-Marie Yaraskavitch ~ Older Adult/Care Partner Representative, Provincial Geriatrics Leadership Ontario Steering Committee
Profile
Anne Marie, a resident of Whitby, has extensive experience as a care partner, supporting loved ones on journeys within Ontario’s health care system in community, hospital and long-term care settings in both urban and rural settings in Ontario Health’s East Region.
After her retirement in 2001 Anne-Marie pursued studies in the area of aging, completing a degree in gerontology. Since then, she has focused her volunteer efforts at health care system planning tables, with a special interest in improving health and social care and support services for older adults and their care partners
Anne-Marie is an Older Adult/Care Partner representative on the Provincial Geriatrics Leadership Ontario (PGLO) Steering Committee and co-chair of the PGLO’s Older Adult & Care Partner Advisory Council, is a member of Ontario Health’s CEO Patient and Family Advisors Group and is a Patient, Family and Care Partner Advisor on the Durham Ontario Health Team.
Her past volunteer work includes being a Seniors Advocate/Public Member on the Senior’s Care Network board, co-chair of the Central East LHIN’s Patient and Family Advisory Committee and board member of the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.
In her leisure time Anne-Marie enjoys cycling with her husband and friends and singing in her local community choir. She looks forward to continuing to focus her volunteer efforts on further improving health and social care a support services for older adults and their care partners and helping ensure that there is a strong commitment to patient, family and care partner engagement and partnering within Ontario’s health care system.
