Profile

Dr. Molnar is Medical Director of the Regional Geriatric Program of Eastern Ontario and Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. He has served on the Canadian Geriatric Society (CGS) Executive since 2000 in a variety of roles including Vice-President, President, first webmaster and several stints as Secretary-Treasurer. Dr. Molnar has served as CGS representative to the International Associations of Geriatrics and Gerontology and Canadian Medical Association. 

Dr. Molnar has presented to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health regarding chronic disease affecting seniors, successfully convincing the committee that dementia was a chronic disease. He has also provided expert input on a national dementia strategy to the Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology. 

Dr. Molnar is co-founder and editor-in-chief of the CGS CME Journal. Most recently, in partnership with Dr. Allen Huang and Dr. Mary Tinetti, Dr. Molnar launched the Geriatric 5Ms (Mind, Mobility, Medications, Multiple Interacting chronic diseases, Matters Most) which have been translated into French and Spanish and are being employed in clinical work and to structure education in a variety of settings including Canada, the UK, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Central America, and Kenya.
