Canada Home Share ~ Kingston Project
About Kingston HomeShare
Canada HomeShare is a co-housing initiative that matches an older adult (55+) with a postsecondary student for a shared housing experience. In exchange for subsidized rent ($400-$600 per month), students contribute companionship and five to seven hours of assistance around the home per week.
The Ontario Age-Friendly Communities Outreach Program, managed by the Centre for Studies in Aging and Health at Providence Care is collaborating with Canada HomeShare to bring its co-housing model to Kingston, Ontario in summer 2021. Kingston HomeShare will match ten older adults (home providers) with ten post-secondary students to live together during 2021-2022.
