Mirella Palermo – Senior Policy Planner, City of Brampton

Are you looking for ways to implement age-friendly actions to improve your community?  In June 2019, Brampton Council unanimously endorsed its first Age-Friendly Strategy and Action Plan providing a framework to move the City forward in its commitment to being an age-friendly community. In 2021, Brampton was recognized as a member of the World Health Organization’s Age-Friendly Communities Network.  As a Senior Policy Planner, Mirella examines ways to improve processes, outdated policies and implementation strategies at the City improving quality of life for the community.  This includes implementing the recommendations of the Strategy and updating the City’s Supportive Housing policies.

Mirella will present/speak during Session 3 panel “How can older adults be included in the conversation?” of the conference on March 22 starting at 11:30 a.m.
